ethos

Community Classroom brings together speakers, doers, makers and shakers to exchange knowledge and experience on topics of sustainable living. The project was founded in the early 2000s by a group of friends looking for ways to increase resilience in the community in the face of climate change impacts and economic downturn. This focus is just as important today as it was then, and that is why we continue to provided talks and workshops to help reduce living costs, adapt to a changing climate, navigate environmental concerns, and increase community resilience.

Workshops, classes, and talks happen in Oamaru and Dunedin throughout the year.

Classes include worm farming, composting techniques, permaculture principles, beekeeping, fermenting foods, homemade breads, body therapies, dance, music, weaving, knitting, upcycling, recycling, rainwater collection, and much more!

We are offering a programme in both Oamaru and Dunedin for the month of September 2024. Join our mailing list on the home page for the brochure to be emailed to you. Or pick up one from your local library!

We hope you can join us!
